Michael P. Glusco, Sr., 55, died Friday, July 29, 2005, at Manor Care Health Services-South. He was the husband of Concetta M. (Burnside) Glusco. The couple celebrated their 16th wedding anniversary on June 30, 2005.

A tribute service will be private at the convenience of the family. No viewing or public service will be scheduled, at Mr. Glusco's request. Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Home, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Glusco was born August 24, 1949, in York. He was the son of the late Paul and Charlotte (Knaub) Glusco. For 37 years he was employed as a machine operator at York International. A 1967 graduate of Central High School, he was captain of both the wrestling and football teams. His memberships included the 9th Ward; the South End Democratic Club; the 12th Ward Independent Democratic Club; life member of Prince Athletic Club; and the AARP. He was also a member of the United Auto Workers Union – Local 1872 – United Automobile, Aerospace, and Agricultural Implement Workers of America.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Glusco is survived by one son, Michael P. Glusco, Jr. and his wife, Julie Fritz of Dallastown; a stepdaughter, Jo Smith and her husband, Timothy of Manchester; a stepson, Charles Sharp and his wife, Melissa of York; five grandchildren, Timmy and Courtney Smith, Garrett and Austin Sharp, and Amber Swope; one great-grandson, Dante; two brothers, Tom Glusco of Charleston, Md., and Joel Glusco of Goldsboro; one sister, Patty Glusco of Maryland; a mother-in-law, Josephine M. Burnside of Lancaster; a brother-in-law, Frank O. Burnside and his wife, Sharon of Lancaster; nephews, Connor Burnside and Andrew Glusco; and several other nieces and nephews. One brother, Ralph Glusco, preceded him in death.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. June Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
