Mrs. Mary Melloy rites Monday.

Mrs. Mary Melloy, 86, formerly of Bernard, died at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 30 at the Crestridge Home, Maquoketa, Iowa.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday from the Devaney Funeral Home in Cascade to St. Patrick's Church, Garryowen. The Rev. William Arquitt, pastor, the Rev. John Husman, Monticello and the Rev. Raymond Collins, Minneapolis, Minnesota, were celebrants of the concelebrated Requiem Mass. Burial was in St. Patrick's cemetery. Casketbearers were Dan Otting, Bill Otting, Jerry Shanahan, Joe Gehl, Dave Donovan, Mike Melloy.

The deceased was born at Otter Creek, February 23, 1884, daughter of Jacob and Catherine (Muller) Eickhorn. She was married to William Melloy Sr., who preceded her in death in 1950. They farmed in the Garryowen area for many years. She had made her home at the Crestridge Nursing Home for the past two years.

Surviving her passing are two sons, William J. Melloy, Dubuque and Thomas of Bernard; four daughters, Mrs. John (Melitta) Otting, Mrs. Henry (Monica) Gehl, Cascade, Mrs. Connie (Estelle) Shanahan, Zwingle, Mrs Herbert (Catherine) Donovan, Clinton; 34 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
