Funeral services for the late
John Heidgerken, whose death was
mentioned in last week's Herald,
were held at Our Lady of the Angels
Church Saturday morning,
Sept. 22, at 9:30 o'clock. Rev. Fr.
Mayer read the requiem High
Mass. The funeral was largely attended
by his many neighbors and
friends.

Interment was made in Calvary
cemetery, and the pallbearers, selected
from among his close friends
were: Henry Borgmann, Ben Du-
Bois, John Mondloch, Jos. Schoenhoff,
Steve Schwarzbauer and Nick
Orth.

Mr. Heidgerken passed away
Wednesday morning, Sept. 19th, at
his home in Kandota township. He
was born at Freeport, Minn., on
February 28, 1875, and was 59 years,
6 months and 19 days old at the
time of death. He received his
early education in the Freeport
school and served as altar boy until
he enrolled as a student at St.
John's University.

September 7, 1897, he was united
in marriage to Martha Chisholm.
Beside' the sorrowing- wife and
daughter, those left to mourn are:
Fred Heidgerken, of Humboldt.
Sask., Can., a farther; and his sisters,
Sr. Lydia, O. S. B., of Stillwater,
Minn.; Mrs. Mike Theisen, of
New Munich, Minn., and Mrs. Jos.
Beste, of Sauk Centre.

In the year 1900 he purchased the
Fairy Lake Stock Farm, where he
resided until his death.

Mr. Heidgerken was always active
in the community in which he
lived. For thirty-three years he
was clerk of School District No. 6.
He gave unstintingly of his time
and worked for the betterment of
the school at all times. He helped
to build it from a third to a firstclass
school. He also served on
the rural telephone board for several
years and was president of the
Sauk Valley lines at the time of his
death. He was a member of the
Catholic Order of Foresters, having
entered the organization when
he was twenty-two years old.

Mr. Heidgerken was always active
in the community in which he
lived. For thirty-three years he
was clerk of School District No. 6.
He gave uristintingly of his time
and worked for the betterment of
the school at all times. He helped
to build it from a third to a firstclass
school. He also served on
the rural telephone board for several
years and was president of the
Sauk Valley lines at the time of his
death. He was a member of the
Catholic Order of Foresters, having
entered the organization when
he was twenty-two years old.

In his passing the community
sustained a severe loss. He was a
kind husband and father, a good
neighbor and sincere friend. He
was ever ready to lend a helping
hand where needed and he will be
greatly missed by all who knew
him.
