Lenoir – Mrs. Nancy Sue Triplett Hartley, age 61, of Lenoir, passed away Thursday, November 6, 2014 at her home. Born July 27, 1953 in Watauga County, she was a daughter of the late Ernest Glenn and Easter Anna Carlton Triplett and the wife of Charles “Doug” Douglas Hartley, of the home, to whom they had shared 19 years of marriage.
Nancy was a member of Covenant Baptist Church and had worked for Lenoir Mirror for 35 years. She was an Avon representative for over 37 years and enjoyed collecting antiques. Nancy will be remembered as a Dale Earnhardt Fan and a supporter of Paralyzed Veterans for over 35 years. In all of this, her biggest joy was her Grandchildren.
Surviving other than her husband Doug is her daughter, Kimberly Dawn Setzer of Collettsville; 2 step-sons, Christopher Hartley and wife Bridgette of Dallas, TX; Jimmy Hartley of Hickory; 4 Grandchildren, Ethan Caldwell, Dillon Caldwell, Reese Hartley, Case Hartley; 1 Great-Grandson, Chandler Watson; 4 sisters, Jackie Ward and husband Jim of Gamewell; Wilma Jean Lawhon of Hudson; Willa Dean Rich and husband Clay of Hudson; Bonnie Farr and husband Gary of Hickory; 2 brothers, Junior Triplett and wife Debra of Hickory; Marshall Triplett and wife Dawn of Lenoir. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A celebration of Nancy’s life will held 3:00 PM Sunday, November 9, 2014 at Yadkin Baptist Church with Pastor David Beane and Pastor Mark Moody officiating. A eulogy will be offered by Charles Hamby. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 6:00 until 7:30 PM Saturday, November 8, 2014 at Evans Funeral Service.
Pallbearers will be: Tyler Caldwell, Jack Gilbert, Greg Farr, Gary Farr, Jr., Charles Hamby and Jonathan Mays.
