Matilda Stephan was born on October 8, 1864 in Hessen, Germany. Her father Daniel Stephan b1833 in Lampertheim was 31 and her mother Elizabeth nee Hubig was 33. She married Charles 'Carl' Renz in 1892. They had six known children during their marriage between 1893 and 1919. Three of her sons died as infants - one listed below. She passed away on September 30, 1924 in South Bend, Indiana at the age of 59 and was laid to rest there in this cemetery. Her father Daniel b1833 was younger brother to this writers G/Grandfather.
