Lois M. Doederlein
June 4, 1924 – November 23, 2014

Lois M. Doederlein, 90 of Monroe died at 3:02 a.m. Sunday at Wellspring Lutheran Home. She had been in poor health for six weeks.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Rupp Funeral Home, where a rosary service will be held at 4:30 p.m. She will lie instate Saturday 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Erie, with the Mass of the Resurrection at 12 a.m. Rev. David Cybulski, pastor will officiate. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Maybee.

Born June 4, 1924 in Maybee, she was the daughter of John and Stella (Liedel) Leibold. She married Harry E. Doederlein on April 28, 1945 at St. Joseph Church, Maybee. He preceded her in death on July 16, 2012.

Lois was a homemaker; a member of St. Joseph Church, Erie, and a former member of the Christian Mothers, and Choir at St. Joseph Church, Ida. She enjoyed playing euchre.

Surviving are her sons, James (John Knecht) Doederlein of Taylor, Daniel (Dawn) Doederlein of Dearborn and Kenneth (Janice) Doederlein of Carleton; daughters, Connie (Gary) Kreps of Ida, Debra (Bryan) Smith of Kalamazoo and Anita (Tom) Watling of Monroe; brother, John (Carol) Leibold of Indian River; sisters, Bernadine Iott of Monroe and Armella (Leo) Hoffman of Tecumseh; eleven grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Harry; parents; sister, Rosemary Zawacki; grandchildren Will Doederlein and Timothy Doederlein, and a great-grandchild Kimberly Roberts.
