Armella “Millie” Hoffman, age 85, passed away on August 28, 2015 at Herrick Manor in Tecumseh surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 8, 1930 to John and Stella (Liedel) Leibold in Maybee, Michigan. She was a graduate of Monroe High Class of 1948. On November 3, 1951 she married Leo “Buzz” Hoffman and they enjoyed 63 years together.
Armella was a member at St. Elizabeth’s church for over 50 years and also sang in the choir. She was employed at Tecumseh High School for 23 years, an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers. Armella enjoyed walking and shows at the TCA. A Devoted mother and grandmother who will be truly missed by her family and friends.
Armella is survived by her loving husband; Leo “Buzz”, sons; Leo (Cindy) of Tecumseh, MI, Michael (Marsha) of Clinton, MI and Patrick of Tecumseh, MI, daughters; Monica (Timothy) Irelan of Tecumseh, and Marie (Michael) Steele of Cypress, CA, a brother, John (Carol) Liebold of Indian River, MI, sister; Bernadine Iott of Monroe, MI, 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Armella was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Jeffery, grandson, Jason Coombs, sisters, Rosemary Zawacki and Lois Doederlein.
Memorial gathering for Armella will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Home from 4-8:00 PM with a Rosary Service at 7:30 PM. Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church at 11:00 AM. Inurnment will follow at Brookside Cemetery.
