Julia Burger, 75, of West Point, Nebraska, (formerly of Leigh, Nebraska), died Monday, November 24, 2014, at the West Point Living Center.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, November 29 at 11:30 AM at the Leigh City Cemetery with Rev. Theresa Brezenski officiating. Visitation will be on Friday from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Gass Haney Funeral Home. Memorials are those of the donor's choice. A lunch will be served at the St. John's Lutheran Church in Leigh, after the graveside service.

Julia Burger was born November 13, 1939, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Henry and Lilly (Brunken) Hellwig. At the age of 7 her father passed away and her mother later married Joe Benes, Jr. She was legally adopted by Joe. Julia graduated from Leigh High School in 1958, and on May 3, 1959, was united in marriage to Ralph Burger at the Congregational Church in Leigh. They made their permanent home in Leigh. After Ralph’s death in 2007, Julia moved into the West Point Living Center.

Daughter – Reva Burger of West Point, NE
Son – Daniel Burger of Leigh, NE
Grandsons – Jon Janousek, Joe Janousek, Joshua (Jackie) Konwinski, Jakeob Rieck, and Joenah Rieck
Great Granddaughter – Addilyn Kay Konwinski
Brother-in-law & Sister-in-law – Marvin & Barb Morris of Conway, AR
Sister-in-law – Darlene Ternus of Cornlea, NE
