Memorial mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 26 at the Church of the Resurrection. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. The Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 John F. Kennedy Road is assisting the family.
Virginia was born on February 4, 1920 in Dubuque the daughter of Henry and Josephine (Klein) Frost.
She graduated from Dubuque Senior High School.
She married Henry Zimmerman on September 28, 1940. He preceded her in death on April 17, 1995.
Virginia was a wonderful homemaker. After her children were raised she was employed at St. Anthony's Catholic school as director of the hot lunch program. Her favorite people were children and she became involved in the lives of many while employed at St. Anthony's.
She enjoyed playing bridge, Cubs games, bus trips and plays.
Surviving are her children, Margo (Ronald) Richeson, of Dubuque and Craig (Donna) Zimmerman, of Durango; 7 grandchildren, Lisa (Tom) Richeson- Gilbertson, Laura (Roger) Richeson- Brandel and Daniel (Cathy) Richeson, James (Nikki) Zimmerman, Melissa Zimmerman- Wolf, Kris (Neil) Zimmerman-Owens and Jolene (P.J.) Zimmerman- Born; 10 great- grandchildren, Cory Gilbertson, Mitchell Gilbertson, Hope Gilbertson, Hannah Brandel, Tessa Brandel, Jenna Brandel, Andrew Owens, Alexia Born, Payden Born, Michael Zimmerman; and her brother, Charles (Thelma) Frost of Glasgow, Montana.
She was also preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Robert (Lucille) Frost; and sister and brother-in-law, Lorraine (Hugo) Flores.
