Erna E. Bisby, 90, of Herington, KS, died Tuesday, December 2nd, 2014, at the Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, KS. She was born on March 7, 1924, at Ramona, KS, the daughter of Reinhart and Emma (Kuether) Beisel.
Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 pm Monday, December 8th, 2014, at the St Paul Lutheran Church, Herington, with Pastor Bill Peterson officiating; burial will follow at the Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm until 1:30 pm Monday at the church.
Mrs. Bisby was a longtime member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church. She began working at the Herington Chamber of Commerce, then was secretary/bookkeeper for Fred Thompson Wholesale, and finally worked as office manager for the Herington Hospital from 1966 until she retired in 1975. She graduated from Herington High School with the class of 1942.
She married Harry “Buck” Bisby on July 21, 1949, at Riverside, California; he preceded in death on January 11, 2007. She is also preceded in death by three (3) brothers: W.R. “Spike” Beisel, Clemens Beisel, and Andrew Beisel; two (2) sisters: Martha Davis, and Edna Christner; and her parents.
She is survived by her sister Laura Olsen of Herington, and numerous nieces & nephews.
