Pauline K. Slemmer, 85, of Perkiomen Place Apts., Pennsburg, formerly of Main Street, East Greenville, died Thursday, Feb. 8, in St. Luke's Quakertown Hospital.
She was a sewing machine operator for the former Pennsburg Pants Factory for many years before retiring in 1980. Previously, she was a hosiery seamer for various hosiery mills in the area. She was also a sewing machine operator for the former Rosenau Manufacturing and the former Daut Manufacturing, both in Red Hill, and the former Blossom Manufacturing, East Greenville.
Born in Hereford, she was a daughter of the late Andrew G. and Ellen (Gery) Kriebel.
She was a member of Palm Schwenkfelder Church and was a member of the church bed pad committee.
She was a volunteer for the Schwenkfelder Library and Historical Center, and a member of the Golden Agers, all of Pennsburg. She was a member of the Fire Company Auxiliary, the Upper Perkiomen Senior Citizen Center, the former Ladies of the Golden Eagle, and was a former member and financial secretary of the Owl's Nest 1302, all of East Greenville. She was a former member of the Perkiomen Chapter 318 Order of the Eastern Star, Red Hill.
Survivors: Son, Barry E. of East Greenville; brother, Ray of Frederick; sisters, Elizabeth Graber of East Greenville, Dorothy Brunner of Gilbertsville, Miriam Huber of Quakertown; nieces, nephews.
Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville. Call 10-11 a.m. Tuesday.
