On April 10th 1948 he was united in marriage to Pauline Wienhold at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pocahontas, Iowa. He farmed with his father and on his own in Hayfield, Minnesota and Pocahontas, Iowa. In 1960 he became a custodian and bus driver at the Pocahontas Community School; a position he held until he retired in 1986. Horses were a big part of his life. The horses not only helped with the farm work, but also served as entertainment, as Florent especially enjoyed teaching the horses tricks. He enjoyed many years training and working with horses, as well as wood-crafting and spending time with his family. He and his wife moved from Pocahontas, Iowa to Loveland, Colorado in 2004.
He is survived by his loving and caring wife of 59 years, four children and spouses, nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren, two brothers and four sisters [survivors names omitted]. Preceded in death are his parents, brothers Art, Duane, Dean and Myron and daughter-in-law Diann.
Memorial Mass, Friday, 10:30a.m., St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Visitation, Thursday, 4:30 – 6:30p.m., Kibbey Fishburn Funeral Home, with the recitation of the rosary starting at 6:00p.m..
