Ocala - Charles M. Link, 88, passed away January 20, 2015. Charles was born on December 3, 1926 in St. Petersburg, FL. He was a WW II U.S. Navy Veteran. He attended the University of Florida and University of Miami. He graduated from Bliss Electrical School, Washington, DC. Charles was employed by the Florida Power and Light in St. Petersburg, Florida until 1953. Charles and his family moved to Ocala about this time and helped start up Link's Electric Motor Company. In the early 1970's he and his brother, Buddy Link founded Marion Fiberglass Company in the Industrial Park.
Charles is survived by his wife of 67 years, Iris S. Link, one brother: Buddy Link (Caroll) of Greenville, TN; sister: Gloria P. Link, Ocala, FL; two daughters: Bonnie J. Baldus (Roger) and Denise Van Der Like (Rob); two grandsons: Marc Baldus (Jenny) of Orlando, FL and Gary Baldus (Shawn) of Zypherhills, FL; one granddaughter: Deena D. Hoyt (Jack) of Ocala, FL and seven great grandchildren.
The family will hold a private Memorial service at a future date. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the charity of your choice in Charlie's name.
