Ocala - Denise Karen Link Van Der Like, 62, passed away March 19, 2015. Denise was born on September 17, 1952, in St. Petersburg, FL. She graduated from Forest High School here in Ocala in 1970. She earned an Associate of Arts degree at Western Arizona College. She loved country-western music and especially dancing - competing with her husband and in dance teams, winning many awards and trophies.
She was very patriotic and supported her husband as a military wife for 20 years, traveling to many distant locations around the country and overseas while he was in the service. After military service she and her husband moved back to Ocala and took up residence in the same community as the rest of her family, adding to the family 'village.' She loved her family, visiting her aging mother and dad nearly every day.
She was a devoted mother and wife, being survived by her husband of 40 years, Robert N. Van Der Like, her daughter Dee Hoyt (Jack) and her two children (Denise's grandchildren) Michael and Amanda Cawley.
The family has held a private memorial service. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the charity of your choice in Denise's name.
