WISHEK STAR, Wishek, ND, May 20, 1948 —

Fred Lang, 80, long time resident of Wishek, died in Bismarck Sunday morning, May 16, after an illness of about four weeks. Fred Lang was born July 27, 1869 in Neusatz, Beresan, Odessa, South Russia, the son of Jacob and Christina (Sayler) Lang. On the 5 June 1889 he came to America with uncle, Fred Sayler and after a short stay at Menno, SD he homesteaded six miles northwest of Wishek in Logan County.

In 1892 he married Katharina Ackerman, who died in 1931. To this couple were born 13 children, ten of whom survive the father. They are: Mrs. Katharina Kienzle, Mrs. Lydia Eissinger, Mrs. Emma Hildenbrand, Theodore Lang, Mrs. Martha Rath, Mrs. Christina Eissinger, all of Wishek, Mrs. Bertha Ruff, Edgeley, Albert Lang, Mrs. Helen Rueb, Edwin Lang all of Wishek.

In 1932 the deceased married widow, Karolina Buechler, nee Boschee. In 1942 the couple came to Wishek. Mr. Lang was in good health until about three years ago. On April 20 of this year be became seriously ill and died.

Other survivors besides his children are three step-daughters; Mrs. Lydia Schwartz, Paulson, MT, Mrs. Leora Geselchen, Bismarck and Mrs. Elsie Lang, Wishek.

Funeral services were held in the Wishek Auditorium May 20 with Rev. John Bodenman officiating. Burial was in the Johannesthal Cemetery, five miles northwest of Wishek.
