Mrs M. Baumgartner, Resident Two Years, Dies at Age of 65
Mrs Marie Baumgartner, 65, a resident of Davenport for two years and a former resident ot Amana Homestead, died at 3:15 a. m. today at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr and Mrs August Biehl, 1942 Claussen street, after an Illness of two weeks duration.
Born in Saxony, Germany, on May 24, 1872, she received her education there and came to the United States, to Homestead, with her brother and aunt when she was eight years of age. She was married to Max Baumgartner at Homestead in 1892 and resided there until coming to Davenport in 1935. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs Fred Pitz of Middle Amana, Mrs Arnold Berger of Norway, la., Mrs Ernest Trumpold of Cedar Rapids, and Mrs Biehl and Mrs Otto Kuehl, both of Davenport; two sons, Henry of South Amana and Charles of Davenport; , 13 grandchildren, and one brother, Emil Schaufuss of High Amana. The body was removed to the Runge mortuary where services will be held in the chapel at 10:30 a. m. Tuesday with burial In Fairmount cemetery.
