HIGH POINT - Mrs. Tina Carter Clegg, 39, of 2539 Willard Dairy Road went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 4, 1997.
Mrs. Clegg was born July 24, 1958 to Jack and Lula Deaton Carter. She was a graduate of Dudley High School and UNC Greensboro with a Masters degree in Speech Pathology. After having been employed in the Reidsville City Schools and Guilford County Schools for a number of years, she was employed by Marta Montefusco and had a special love for working with children with special needs.
She was a loving wife and mother and enjoyed volunteering in her children's schools and in her church. She was preceded in death by her loving brother, Terry Carter.
Surviving are her husband of 17 years, Jim Clegg; two daughters, Sarah Jane and Mary Kate, both of the home; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack and Lula Carter of Greensboro; and by a host of caring friends and family.
Funeral will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 5736 Inman Road, Greensboro by the Rev. Rick Byrd and the Rev. Jimmy Dillon. Interment will be in Westminster Gardens.
Mrs. Clegg will remain at Sechrest Funeral Home on East Lexington Ave. and the family will receive friends from the funeral home tonight from 7-8:30 p.m.
The family requests that memorials be directed to a Scholarship Fund for Tina's children, c/o Jim Clegg, Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Dr., High Point, NC 27262; or Cornerstone Baptist Church, 5736 Inman Road, Greensboro, NC.
