MARIETTA -- Services for Myron L. Hicks, 66, will be at 10 a.m. today, March 17, 2006, at the Church of Christ with Bro. Travis Huffman officiating. Interment will follow at Leon Cemetery.

Born on Jan. 27, 1940, in Jimtown, Okla., to James A. and Faye Gipson Hicks, he died on Monday, March 13, 2006, at his home in Weatherford, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Thurston Joe Hicks.

A graduate of Leon High School, he attended the University of Oklahoma and owned an ATV dealership, Four H Cycle Center, in Mineral Wells, Texas. He had lived in the Weatherford/Mineral Wells area the past 30 years.

He and Mary Jo Whittington were married on June 27, 1959, in Marietta.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Julie Hicks, Mineral Wells; a daughter, LaVonita Gayle Hicks, Ocala, Fla.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, James Weldon and Juanita "Skeet" Hicks, Jimtown, and Duane and Shirley Hicks, Marietta; four grandchildren, Erin Hicks, Brittney Hicks, Leland Lavon Hicks, Alana Hicks; and five great-grandchildren.

Bearers will be Brent Scott, Douglas Hicks, Richard Whittington, Marion Hicks, Larry Hicks and Chris Householder.
