MARIETTA -- Services for Thurston J. Hicks, 76, Jimtown, will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Marietta Church of Christ with Floyd Johnson officiating. Interment will be at Leon Cemetery under the direction of Kennedy Funeral Home.
Hicks died Dec. 2, 1998, in an Oklahoma City hospital. He was born April 4, 1922, at Jimtown, to James A. and Faye Gipson Hicks.
A lifetime resident of Love County, he married Dovey Guinn Dec. 30, 1949, at Paris, Texas, and was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Leon Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons, Phillip, Socorro, N.M., and Joe, Grandview, Mo.; two daughters, Linda Marshall, Dallas, and Julia Hicks, Oklahoma City; three brothers, James, Jimtown, Duane, Marietta, and Myron, Weatherford, Texas; and six grandchildren.
