Olivia Nieto Flores passed away on Monday, Jan. 26, 2015, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 83 years, 5 months, and 11 days. She was born on Aug. 15, 1931, in Floresville to Ignacio and Virginia Pena Nieto. She was a lifelong resident of Floresville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Fidel Flores; sons Manuel Garcia Jr. and Alfredo “Fred” Flores; sisters Elvira Chavana and Genevieve Arciniega; and brother Isidro Nieto.
Olivia is survived by 3 children, 2 sisters, 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
Visitation was held Sunday, Feb. 1, at 6 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7:30 p.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville.
A funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday at 11 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with the Rev. Frank Kurzaj officiating.
Interment followed in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Floresville.
Serving as pallbearers were Johnny “Gus” Nieto, Steven Floyd, Rudy Orosco, Jonathon Flores, Gilbert Flores, Jacob Flores, Frank Flores, and Brittany Nicole Flores.
