Nellie Korthof, 80, of Spooner passed away peacefully on Feb. 21, 2015, at Golden Living Court Manor Nursing Home in Ashland.

Nellie was born July 28, 1934, to Gerrit Sr. and Bertha (Hesseling) Korthof, the ninth of 10 children. She attended the Springbrook Elementary School and graduated from Spooner High School in 1952. She then moved to St. Paul and worked until her retirement in 1994 for Honeywell in the customer service department. After retirement Nellie then returned to Spooner, where she volunteered at the Trinity Lutheran Church, enjoyed her daily walks, reading paperback books and visiting with family and friends.

She is survived by siblings, Linda Hodd of Anoka, Minnesota, Jack Korthof of Buffalo, Minnesota, Donald Korthof and Alan Korthof, both of Springbrook; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerrit Sr. and Bertha Korthof; and siblings, Norma Luecht, Robert Korthof, Gerrit Korthof Jr., Stanley Korthof and Jim Korthof.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 27, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Spooner.
