HARDIN - Ben Link worked for Miles and Ulmer Co. as a farm machinery mechanic, worked on the construction of Yellowtail Dam, and for several years, at Sarpy Coal Mine, retiring in 1984. He was a member of Operating Engineers Union and enjoyed fishing and working in his garden. He enjoyed his saw shop. Mr. Link, 71, died in Big Horn County Memorial Hospital early Saturday morning after a short illness. Born in Leith, N.D, a son of Gottlieb and Amelia Rivinus Link, he grew up and attended school in North Dakota. He mpved north of Hardin with his parents in 1938. On April 10, 1943, he married Mildred "Millie" Weigand in Hardin.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Don of Hardin; a daughter, Mrs.
Donna Clamplett of Billings; three brothers, William of Hardin, Gottlieb of Spokane, Wash, and John of Billings; four sisters, Mrs. Emma Dietz of Bismarck, N.D, Mrs. Martha Gookin of Hardin, Evelyn Link of Portland, Ore, and Mrs. Pauline Becker of Garden City, Kan.; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Bullis Funeral Chapel with burial in Fairview Cemetery..
