CHRISTINE GEHRING was born October 29, 1919 in Aberdeen, SD to Godfred and Christina (Schmierer) Gehring. She spent the first 9 years of her life in Aberdeen and then moved to Corson County where she attended school. She was united in marriage to Arthur Sieler on August 16, 1940 at McLaughlin, SD. The Sieler's lived on a farm 4 miles east of McIntosh for six years and then moved into town. Christine had a variety of jobs until she purchased the café in McIntosh. She worked at the café providing her community with some of the most delicious "home cooked" meals until she retired in 1982. Her husband Art passed away on December 2, 1994 and Christine continued to live in McIntosh until she moved to Sioux Falls in 2003.

Christine passed from this life Tuesday, May 23 at Avera McKennan Hospice in Sioux Falls, SD, at the age of 86 years.

She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in McIntosh. She enjoyed visiting with her family and her friends.

Grateful for having shared her life are 1 son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Darlene Sieler, Sioux Falls, SD; 4 daughters and 2 sons-in-law; Joan and Kenneth Bonagofsky, Selfridge, ND; Carol Erickson, Pam Maze, both of Kalispell, MT; Sharon and Gary Pilaczynski, Walnut Grove, MN; 7 grandsons, Clint Sieler, Keith Bonagofsky, Alan and Tim Pilaczynski, Ronald Wilbur, Dan Maze, Doug Erickson; 7 granddaughters, Kristy Seiler, DeDe Sieler-Pearce, Connie Montayne, Nancy Bonagfosky, Kay Boger, Roberta Wilber, Lisa Dallenbach; 23 great grandchildren; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Willie and Mary Gehring, Christ and Lena Gehring; 2 sisters and brothers-in-law, Esther and Fred Bennett, Elsie and Jim Pechan; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 4 brothers, John, Jack, Frank, and Fred Gehring; and 2 sisters, Kate Varcholz and Maggie Orman.
Burial in the McIntosh Cemetery.
