Antone Taton [sic], living on Brush Creek, who went out after breakfast to work in his pumpkin vines, dropped suddenly down. His little boy went to the house and told his mother that father was asleep in the patch. She went out and raised him up; he was breathing. He placed his arm around her neck, and made an effort to speak, but failed, sank down, and was dead. He was industrious, honest, and respected by all his neighbors. He was buried in the Doniphan Cemetery, on last Saturday, by a large attendance of his German friends.
