CITY - Rosalie Hooge Allsup, age 89, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 24, 2015. She was born on February 16, 1926, in Poteet, Texas to Alphonse Hooge and Anna Caroline Ripps Hooge. She was one of seven children and grew up in Poteet, Texas where she worked as a bookkeeper in her family's grocery store.

On June 5, 1949, she married Thomas Edward Allsup at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Pleasanton, Texas. Rosalie and Thomas lived in various locations in Texas in the early years of their marriage due to Thomas' job as a welder for the Missouri Pacific Railroad. In 1965 they built their permanent family home in Bay City, Texas, where they raised their three daughters. Rosalie and Thomas enjoyed 61 happy years together, until Thomas' death in 2010. Rosalie was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and her family was the focus of her life. She was also a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church where she served on the Altar Society for numerous years.

Rosalie was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Edward Allsup; daughter, Amy Allsup Williams; parents Alphonse and Anna Caroline Hooge; brothers, Louis Anthony Hooge, George Amil Hooge, August Ervin Hooge, and Paul Henry Hooge; and sister Mary Hooge Stiles.

Visitation with the recitation of the Rosary at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Funeral Mass at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Bay City, Tx. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck, Tx.
