David was born April 13, 1961 in Bemidji, Minnesota, to Ervin and Doris (Foster) Kainz. Dave was a carpenter all of his life, a trade that he started in his teens. He owned and operated his own construction company in the Midwest and other areas.
He enjoyed scuba diving and was an instructor in St. Croix, US Virgin Islands. Dave enjoyed people and it seemed like he knew someone wherever he went.
Surviving are his son, Cole, of Princeton; siblings, Aldean (Nancy) Kainz of Austin, Texas, Eugene Kainz of Mechanicsville, Dar (Bill) Lange of Moultrie, Georgia, Shelia (Al) Schrader of DeWitt, Iowa, Kevin Kainz of Ely, Iowa, and Diane (Tim) Miller of Red Wing, Minnesota; numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding Dave in death were his parents and a sister, Jacquline "Elmo" Kainz.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Schultz Funeral Home of DeWitt, from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. Friday, November 4, 2011.
