Eugene Craig Kainz was born December 28, 1951, Quinn South Dakota to Ervin and Doris (Foster) Kainz. He attended Central Community Schools, DeWitt.
Eugene served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era and was stationed in Germany.
He worked construction for various construction and roofing companies.
He loved the outdoors, especially canoeing, kayaking, fishing and camping.
Surviving are a daughter, Sonja (Gregg) Frei of Minonk, Illinois; granddaughters, Gwyn and Brynn Frei; siblings, Aldean (Nancy) Kainz of Austin, Texas, Dar (Bill) Lange of Mexico Beach, Florida, Shelia (Al) Schrader of DeWitt, Kevin (Nancy) Kainz of Ely and Diane (Tim) Bohmbach of Red Wing, Minnesota; nieces and nephews.
Preceding Eugene in death were his parents; a sister, Jackie "Elmo" Kainz and a brother, David.
No visitation or service will be held at this time. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt.
