Anton is the son of Johann Petris (John Peter) Kallenbach and Anna Margaretha Boos

Anton married Margaretha "Margaret" Gergen on August 30, 1848 in a civil ceremony in Mayen and in a religious Catholic ceremony on September 5, 1848 in the village of Kehrig in Germany.

Anton and Margaret are the parents of nine children: Only seven children lived to adulthood.

Anton Kallenbach died at his home southwest of town on Wednesday, April 6th, aged 87 years. He had been a resident of Olive Township for the past 42 years, and was highly respected by all who knew him. He leaves to mourn his loss 7 children, 4 sons and 3 daughters, who are John, Joseph, and Nicholas, living in Olive Township; and Frank, living in Moline, Ill.; Mrs. Hubert Green, living south of town; Mrs. Chas. A. Dutton and Mrs. Jno. Kuehl, of O'Brien County. The funeral was held Saturday, April 9, with interment in the Catholic cemetery.
