Services were held from the Free Methodist Church on June 22, 1984, for Ernest Walter Loseke, 91, who died June 19, 1984 at the Community Memorial Home in Osakis, where he and his wife, Martha, have been residing for the past three and a half years.
Mr. Loseke was born March 19, 1893, 12 miles north of Columbus, Nebraska, on the farm which was homesteaded by his grandparents in 1958. He was the youngest of 11 children born to Gerhard and Elise Loseke, all of whom preceded him in death.
Ernest was involved in the dairy business most of his working years. In 1943 the Losekes moved from Omaha, Nebraska to Alexandria, where Ernie supervised the wartime production of dry milk powder for North American Creameries. After World War II, he and Martha built and operated the first drive-in food establishment in Alexandria - the Go-For Drive In. They retired in 1958.
Ernest was married to Martha Mae Arnold on October 14, 1914. Mr. Loseke is survived by his wife, Martha; a son, Donald of Isle of Palms, South Carolina; 3 daughters: Catherine (Mrs. William Kahre) of Hemet, California; Mary (Mrs. William Harden) of Omaha, Nebraska and Donna Mae (Mrs. Richard Lundstrom) of Alexandria. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
