Passed away June 17, 2006 at Dominican Hospital; she was 85. Estelle was born and raised in San Francisco. She attended Miss Burks School and later the University of California Berkeley.
She married Dr. A.E. Allegrini in her sophomore year of college. Estelle was a longtime resident of Santa Cruz who always had a vibrant and exuberant energy for life. She treasured art and music and had a great sense of adventure. She loved attending plays in San Francisco with her friends. Travel was of great value to Estelle; she was always learning about people and different cultures. Another pastime she enjoyed was golf, which she played for several years at Pasatiempo Golf Club. Estelle's greatest joy in life was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Estelle was very involved in many local groups.
She was active in Omega Nu, Guide Dogs for the Blind, the Dominican Hospital Auxiliary and Girl Scouts. She was a longtime supporter of the Santa Cruz Symphony. She was also a member of the Calvary Episcopal Church.
Estelle is survived by her daughters, Kay de Groot of Lafayette, Patty Carter of Scottsdale, AZ, and Toni Garibaldi of Sacramento. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, two nieces and two nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Dr. A.E. Allegrini; sister, Florence Lambert; and brother, Charles Christin.
A private Graveside Service will be held at Cypress Lawn Cemetery, Colma, CA.
