Milt died Friday, May 22, 2015 at Brookstone Acres in Columbus.

Milton W. Lueke was born May 28, 1924 in Platte County, Nebraska to Walter G. and Lillie B. (Held) Lueke. He graduated from Kramer High School in 1941 at age sixteen. Milt served in the Post War Occupational Army in Germany from November 1945 - August 1947. He married the love of his life Evelyn "Eps" Dietz on February 14, 1946 at St. Bonaventure Church in Columbus. Milt worked for N.P.P.D. as a "Right Of Way" buyer until retiring in 1986. He was a member of St. Bonaventure Church, Hartman Post #84 American Legion, V.F.W. and Knights of Columbus. In his early years he was involved with the development of Columbus constructing over 40 homes and was active with the Chamber of Commerce. He helped St. Bon's build the elementary school and later helped build Scotus Central Catholic. He was the oldest living descendent of John Held, one of the 13 founders of Platte County. Milt enjoyed restoring cars and was renowned for his Studebaker restorations. He became a pilot as a teenager, bought an airplane with his neighbor friend and flew it around his father's farm. Milt also enjoyed dancing with "Eps", golfing, and playing pool.
