Elder daughter of Louis and Augusta Jehle.

Marie never married and lived with her parents until their deaths. More than likely, Marie moved to Terre Haute, Indiana after her mother's death in 1943. Marie was living in Terre Haute when she passed away.

I wondered for awhile why Marie moved to Terre Haute, but I have discovered this was the first home of her mother's family when they immigrated from Germany in the 1860's. That, coupled with the fact Terre Haute is just over the Illinois-Indiana border and virtually due east of Pana, makes me think there may have been members of her mother's family still living there in the 1940's. With almost all of the Pana Jehle's having either passed away or moved out-of-state, Marie may have wanted to live in an area where some family members still resided.

On June 11, 2015, I received Marie's Death Certificate from the State of Indiana. It confirms her body was sent to Pana for burial, so although the informant (a cousin I am not yet familiar with) didn't know her parents' names, the fact she left instructions for her burial in Pana makes me fully confident she is buried in the lot her father purchased at Linwood Cemetery (where both parents and her sister are buried).

I have just returned from a second visit (June 2015) to Christian County where I further researched the extended Jehle family. I visited Linwood Cemetery and found Lots 49 - 50 which Marie's father, Louis, purchased sometime in the late 1800's. I found no marker for Marie, but was able to confirm there was one grave area in Lot 49 without a marker. I believe Marie to be buried in that grave, which would be the most northern grave in the lot, north of Lena Jehle's grave (her aunt).
