NAMPA — Mrs. Martha M. Hergert, 63, of Nampa, route 5, died Monday night in a Nampa hospital three hours after she fell from a stepladder at the family home while picking cherries.
Mrs. Hergert was injured in the fall about 8 p.m. and died at 11:35 p.m. without regaining consciousness.
he was born Nov. 11, 1891, at Byron, Neb., and was reared in Nebraska. She was married March 4, 1920, in Nampa to Fred G. Hergert and the couple since had lived in Nampa.
She was a member of Grace Lutheran church of Caldwell and the Ladies guild and the Lutheran Women's Missionary league of the church and she was a member of the Sunshine club of Nampa.
Surviving in addition to Mr. Hergert are two sons, Earl G. Hergert of San Fernando, Calif., and Raymond F. Hergert of Oakland, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Ray Fulton of Pacoima, Calif., and Mrs. Ron Smith of Caldwell; two brothers, Otto Helmke of Nampa and George Helmke of Portland; three sisters, Mrs. Sophia Wilkening of Burbank, Calif., and Miss Madge Helmke and Miss Elizabeth Helmke, both of Eagle Rock, Calif., and 13 grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at Alsip chapel Friday at 2 p.m. 1The Rev. Harry H. Young will officiate and interment will be at Canyon Hill at Caldwell.
