Barbara Picard, 83, of New Smyrna Beach Florida and Shapleigh Maine, died peacefully at home with her family on June 11, 2015.

Barbara was born on February 1, 1932 in Watertown, Connecticut to Jennie and Thaddeus Harty. When she was a young woman she married Raymond Picard of Springvale Maine and together they raised two children and shared many years of marriage until his death in 2007.

Barbara was a homemaker that always enjoyed crafts, gardening and her religion. She spent her winters in Florida for the last twenty five years and she spent her summers for over fifty years at Mousam Lake in Shapleigh Maine. Barbara was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and always loved being around the children of the family. She will always be remembered as a kind and loving woman and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Barbara was predeceased by her husband Raymond, her sisters Betty Fanska of Middletown Connecticut and Dorothy Dunne of Farmington Connecticut and her brothers Thaddeus Harty of Fairfax Virginia and Thomas Harty of Farmington Connecticut.

Surviving are two children, Raymond (Tiger) and his wife Cheryl of Windsor Locks Connecticut, Peter and his wife Gina of Riverview Florida, 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, June 26th at St Thérèse of Lisieux Parish, Notre Dame Church, located of Payne Street in Springvale.

Interment will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery in Springvale.

Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.
