FOR MRS. STUCKMAYER
Death came to Mrs. Marie Stuckmayer at her farm home three and one half miles north of Pierz, Thursday October 31 at noon. She had been ill for the past year with the infirmities of old age.
Marie Zierer was born in Germany on May 20, 1867 and migrated to the United States 50 years ago. She settled with her parents on a farm three miles north of Pierz and married John Stuckmayer at Pierz on October 20, 1892. They established their residence at her present home where they lived ever since.
Six children survive. They are Mrs. Herman G. Poser, (Theresia), Matt, Pierz; Mrs. Edward Theis (Mary), Mrs. Leonard Theis, (Rosa), both of Cross Plaines, Wisconsin and Anna and Paul at home.
Other survivors include 32 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. A brother and sister, Matt Zierer and Mrs. Theresia Koering, both of Pierz, also survive.
Funeral services were held at Lastrup, Monday morning at 9 a.m. at St. John's Nepomuck church with Fr. Reiners officiating. Interment was made in the church cemetery.
Six nephews Ray and Edmund Poser, Elmer and Roman Theis, and Mathew and Gerald Stuckmayer of the U.S. Army, were the pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Mrs. John L Ross, Mrs. George Happke, Mrs. Paul Virnig, Mrs. Gertrude Fischer, Mrs. George Welle and Mrs. Peter Gross of Lastrup.
People from out of town attending the funeral were Mrs. Leonard Theis and son Roman and daughter Lorraine, Marie and Elmer Theis of Cross Plaines, Wis.; Leonard Theis, Dane, Wisconsin; Mrs. Annie Stuckmayer, Albert Stuckmayer and Joe Stuckmayer, all of Minneapolis.

Maria Sigl (aka Maria Zierer) was born on May 20, 1867 to Mathias (aka Leonard Zierer) and Theresa (Eineichner) Sigl in Loiching, Dingolfing, Bavaria. She emigrated in August, 1891, travelling under the name of Maria Zierer with her father, Mathias Sigl, who travelled under the name Leonard Zierer. After several months in Detroit, MI and Meire Grove, MN, her father purchased a farm in Buh Township, 3 miles north of Pierz in May, 1892.
