There is no death certificate or will on file at the County Courthouse in Hillsboro, Ohio for Michael Medsker, Sr. At one time Michael lived six miles from Hillsboro, Ohio, near Church. Family researchers have never been able to locate Michael, Sr's or his first wife Sarah Barr's or his second wife Susannah Mulanix/Mullenix's burial sites in Highland Co. Records indicate that Michael last lived SE of Hillsboro. Some of the old cemetery's have never been inventoried, some have had the stones pulled and are now farmed and the old stones are probably not legible anymore. One of Michael's sons was an undertaker in Hillsboro so perhaps he buried his father. Perhaps Michael passed away at a home of one of his children who lived in another county?

Court records settling his father George Metsker's (1747-1793) estate, named his mother and siblings, "...That the said Intestate left a widow named Elizabeth (yet a widow) and seven children to wit Jacob the eldest son, Adam, Mary, George, Michael, Rachel & David." Note: In some places in the court records the mother is named as Mary and in others as Elizabeth.

Michael's parents' marriage record: Pennsylvania Marriages prior to 1790: June 2, 1773 Metzger, George/Mary Elizabeth Hoff. Married in St. Michael's and Zion Church, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Mary Elizabeth Hoff Metzger (Medsker) was born about 1746. We do not have a record of where she is buried.
