Daughter of Isaiah Medsker. Wife of John Wilson Templin. Mother of Michael, Eliza, Terah, William, Simeon, Didana, Elizabeth, Jasper, John W., Isaac and Milton.
From the Hendricks County Republican, Sept. 5, 1895: "A Pioneer Gone
Mrs. Mary Templin, familiarly known as "Aunt Polly," died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Eliza Williams, August 11. She was born in Highland County, Ohio, March 19, 1808, being at the time of her death 87 years, 4 months and 12 days old. She was married to John W. Templin in 1825, and they moved to Hendricks County in 1825. In 1842 they united with the Presbyterian Church at Danville. Unto them were born eight sons and three daughters. Her husband, four sons and one daughter have gone before to the better land. For over six years she was so afflicted that she could not walk. She had been very feeble for several months, but sat up as usual in her chair until the afternoon of the day of her death. Her death was very sad, it being the second death in the family of Mrs. Williams in four months, her daughter having died in April. The funeral was preached at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church at Danville, August 13, by Rev. Dickerson, after which the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery at the old home, one mile and a quarter north of Danville."
