On Saturday there occurred at the hospital in this city the death of William??(Is this an error?) Baumgartner, one of the earliest settlers in this section of the state. He had been sick only a few days and was taken to the hospital as soon as he showed signs of failing health.
Mr. Baumgartner was 68 years of age and came to New Ulm in the sixties. By untiring industry he soon became one of the wealthiest farmers and died possessing a considerable share of worldly goods.
The funeral was held Sunday afternoon from the Catholic Church.
