Succumbs - Mrs. Fred Erhart, 73, above, a former longtime resident of Rock Island, died at 4:15 o'clock this morning (Thursday, Nov 13, 1952) in the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. (Gertrude Erhart) W. J. Rogers, rural route 1, LeClaire, Iowa, following an extended illness.
Until a few monts ago Mrs Erhart resided at 1030 Seventeenth avenue, Rock Island. Mr Erhart died last Dec 8. They had celebrated their golden wedding anniversary April 30, 1951, with open house at their Rock Island home. All 10 of their sons and daughters were present.
Mrs Erhart, the former Theresa Peter, waas born in Germany, Dec. 7 1879, and received her early education there. She moved to the quad-cities 62 years ago. She was married to Fred Erhart April 30, 1901, in St. Mary's Catholic church in Rock Island.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic church of Rock Island.
Survivors are six sons, Edwin, Bernard and William Erhart, all of Downey Calif., Charles Erhart, Montpelier, Idaho, John Erhart, Andalusia, and James Erhart, Rock island; four daughters, Mesdames Marian Kincaid and Theresa Erickson, both of Downing; Mrs Gertrude Rogers, of near LeClaire, and Rosemary Terry, Geneseo; a brother, Valentine Peter, Omaha, and 19 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents (Katharine Welzanbach and George Peter), husband, a daughter (Evelyn Marie Erhart-Freesh) and two sisters (Margaretha Peter-Boden and Kunigunda Peter-Dietz).
The body is at the DeRoo funeral home in Moline.
Funeral services will be held Saturday (Nov 15, 1952) morning at 8:20 o'clock in the DeRoo funeral home in Moline, and at 9:00 o'clock in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Rock Island. The Rev. Francis J Casey, pastor, will officate. Burial will be in the family lot in Clvery cemetery.
The Rosary will be recited at 8:00 o'clock tomorrow night in the funeral home. Friends may call there after 7 o'clock tonight.
