William Lingelbach
William Lingelbach, 81, 113 Allen St., died at 1:30 a.m. Wednesday at his home. Death was due to complications.
He was born Dec. 7, 1874, in Waterloo, the son of Jacob and Anna Opper Lingelbach. He married Amelia Moessner Sept. 6, 1905, in South Haven, Mich.
A Waterloo resident all his life he was a pioneer tailor here, operating in the Glass and Lingelbach shop for many years and then in the Lingelbach Brothers shop. In 1941, he moved the tailor shop to his home and had been semi-retired since then.
He was a Spanish-American War veteran and belonged to Co. B., 49th Iowa Volunteer Regiment. He was a member of First Congregational Church, VFW, Elks No. 290 and Fred Willier Camp No. 11, Spanish War Veterans.
Survivors are his wife, one son, Ray A., also of 113 Allen St., and three brothers, George, 1717 W. 3rd St., Joh, 214 Virden St., and Henry L., Denver, Colo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and three sisters.
The remains are at Kistner Funeral Home pending arrangements.
