Mrs. MaryAnn Schmitt Dost, age 82 years, of Sedalia, MO., passed away Saturday,
July 4, 2015 at The Place Retirement Home in Pooler, GA.
She was born on August 10, 1932, in Des Moines, IA., a daughter of the late Paul and Edna Schmitt. She was married on January 9, 1954, in Marshalltown, IA, to Albert Lee Dost, who preceded her in death.
She was employed as a Registered Nurse, a Director of Nursing in the Ramsey Nursing Home in Des Moines, IA., and an RN in Sedalia, Mo. She volunteered at the Georgia Legal Services as an ombudsman and senior aide and trainer in Savannah, GA., after her retirement.
MaryAnn enjoyed arts and crafts, including quilting, sewing, painting, and jewelry-making. She loved playing Bingo and spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Eugene Dost; three brothers; Paul J. Schmitt, Gerald E. Schmitt and Robert Schmitt; two sisters, Yvonne M. Younger, and Constance M. Elliott; and three infant siblings.
Service will be held at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Marshalltown, IA., at a later date.
