Ute Popp Kiggans, 76, of Marietta passed away Thursday, July 9, 2015, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born November 30, 1938, in Crailsheim, Germany, a daughter of Hans and Hilde Lödel Popp.
Ute was a homemaker and a devoted member of Soul’s Harbor Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for over 30 years.
She married Edward Bodie Kiggans in Germany on January 12, 1952. He survives with their children, Elke Booth of Newark, Ohio and William (Yvette) Kiggans of Marietta, Ohio, 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Elke Grüber of Carailsheim, Germany. Her parents and sister, Edith Havard, preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday (July 11) at 11:00am at Soul’s Harbor Baptist Church with Pastor Robert Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in Lawrence Baptist Cemetery.
