Barbara Kay Wittkopp, age 76 of Greenville, died Thursday morning, July 9, 2015. She was born October 20, 1938 in the Langston area, the daughter of Norman and Leila (Dennis) Bowers. On May 7, 1960, she married Melvin A. Wittkopp at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Greenville, where they continued to be longtime members together throughout her life.

She was a graduate of Stanton High School, and assisted Mel in the operation of their business, B & W Television Sales and Service. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, and hugs, especially from her grandchildren.

Barb is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Melvin; children, John Wittkopp of Greenville and Sherrie (Sam) Tower of Comstock Park; grandchildren, Katie Tower of Comstock Park, Adam Tower of Comstock Park, and Christina Wittkopp of Greenville; sisters, Phyllis Higgins of Sidney, Sandra (Carl) Stephens of Lake City, and Nancy Buckley of Howard City; brother-in-law, William Linebaugh of Greenville; sister-in-law, Lynda Wittkopp of Florida; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Wittkopp; parents; brother, Lloyd Bowers; sister, Norma Linebaugh; brothers-in-law, Richard Higgins, Ralph Buckley, and Elon Wittkopp; and sister-in-law, Phyllis (Joe) Martin.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, July 13, 2015 at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Rev. Jeffrey Wilhelm officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at Hurst Funeral Home. Interment will be in East Montcalm Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Barb's honor may be given to Mount Calvary Lutheran Church.
