The news of the death of Mrs. James Chapman, of Unity, which occurred at St. Joseph's hospital in Marshfield Sunday evening, January 25, 1931, was received with sorrow by her many friends and neighbors. Mrs. Chapman has been in ill health for some time and was taken to the hospital several weeks ago where she underwent a very serious operation for cancer from which there seemed little hope of recovery. Later she suffered a severe attack of pneumonia with which she battled bravely for days but at last succumbed.

Olla Guthiel was born at Kiel, Wis., July 3, 1872, and moved to Chilton, Wisconsin, when but a child and where her girlhood days were spent. In 1897 she moved to Utah and resided there until 1912. On November 28, 1912 she was united in marriage to James A. Chapman at Colby. They went to make their home on the farm three and one half miles west of Unity, where they have since resided. They were the parents of two children, Roy, who died in infancy Feb. 3, 1914 and George F. Chapman. Besides husband and son she also leaves one step son, Ralph J. of Des Moines, Wis., one brother, A. G. Guthiel, and one sister, Cora G. Guthiel, both of Salt Lake City, Utah and one uncle, Fred Hysson of Madison, Wis.

She was a member of the Unity M. E. church with which she united Apr. 4, 1920. She will be held in loving remembrance and greatly missed both in home and church and community, where she lived.
