Victoria "Vicky" (Gerbers) Hermsen, 62, of De Pere passed away on Sunday morning, July 19, 2015, after a great battle with cancer for three years. Vicky is the daughter of Edward and the late Pearl "Shorty" (Frisque) Gerbers, and was born on April 26, 1953. Vicky married Peter Hermsen on April 20, 1972 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in De Pere. Vicky was a stay-at-home mom until the children were in school full time. Vicky started working at Renier's Bakery. She then waitressed at Ivan's, The Union Hotel and Nicolet Restaurant, where she met and made so many friends, who she never forgot. After having to give up work due to illness, the grandkids took up all of the spare time she had. She enjoyed every minute. Vicky will be deeply missed by her husband, Pete Hermsen; children Jason (Jenny) Hermsen, Jessica (Bill) Hoisington; as well as her five grandchildren, that always put a smile on her face, Elizabeth and Alex Hermsen, Aubrey, Ayla and Max Hoisington. She is further survived by her father, Ed Gerbers; siblings, Linda Cloud, Gary (Cindy) Gerbers, Sherry Gerbers, twin brother Richard (Joan) Gerbers, Randy Gerbers, Cathy (Dennis) Doherty, Theresa (Gary) Lawrence and Mary (Gary) Zimmerman. Vicky is even further survived by Pete'smom; Elizabeth Hermsem and his siblings, Nancy Helgerson, Judy Manci, Barb (Jim) Dennison, Suzanne (Art) Uher, Jeff Marmes, Lynn (Pat) Gleason, Pete's twin brother Paul (Kathy) Hermsen, John (Kathy) Hermsen, Georgianna (Dan) Hietpas, Mark Hermsen and Lisa Piaskowski; as well as so many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Pearl "Shorty," a sister Diane, and brothers, Steve and Daniel. She is further preceded in death by Pete's father, Robert Sr., brothers Robert Jr. and Michael, and sister Leslie Marmes. Friends and family may call at RYAN FUNERAL HOME 305 N. Tenth Street, De Pere on Wednesday July 22, 2015 from 4:00 – 8:00pm. Visitation will continue after 9:00am on Thursday at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family, corner of Lourdes Ave and Suburban Drive, De Pere. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am Thursday with Father Tim Shillcox O. Praem., officiating. Burial to follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
