Pauline was the daughter of Andrew F. Lutz and Mary L. Booth Lutz. She was a graduate of Roxbury High School and Chevy Chase School at Chevy Chase, Maryland. She held a Bachelor of Arts degree from Skidmore College at Saratoga Springs, New York. Pauline married to James Hopkins on 21 April 1933 at Manhattan, New York. They had three children, a son and two daughters.
1910 and 1915-enumerated at Roxbury with her parents. Her father was a general store clerk.
1920-enumerated at Roxbury with her widowed father and a boarder. Her father was a general store keeper.
1925-enumerated at Roxbury with her father and step-mother, Anna K. Lutz. Her father was a merchant.
1930-enumerated at Roxbury with her father and step-mother. Her father was a feed merchant.
1930 to 1933-taught Art and English, traveling among one-room schoolhouses near Roxbury.
1957-relocated to Cape Cod, Massachusetts. She taught Art to all grades of students in the Dennis-Yarmouth Regional School District.
1974-retired and resided at Thirwood Place, a retirement community at South Yarmouth, Massachusetts.
1993-resided at South Yarmouth.
2006-last known residence was at Kirkside at Roxbury.
