Braun, Daniel "Danny' G.

Danny lost his battle with lung cancer on Friday November 29, 2013 at home in the arms of his loving wife. He was born in Fond du Lac, WI, to Ambrose and Julia Braun on October 31, 1947.

Danny married Yvonne Rixen on March 11, 1980 in Fond du Lac, WI. They have been living in Lamartine, WI since 1981.

During and after his college years, where he received a BA in business, Danny was an Army Reservist for 6 years. In 1971, he became an engineer with the Soo Line/CP Railroad until his retirement in 2007. He enjoyed fishing, sturgeon spearing, and hunting up north with his son Stephen at the cabin of his lifelong friends, the Brennands. He also loved to dance.

Danny was a strong, gentle, loving, kind, generous and humble man. He will be greatly missed by many.

Danny is survived by the love of his life and wife of 33 years, Yvonne, and their three children, Stephen (Stacy Gust) Braun, Renee Braun, and John "JB" (Jessica) Braun; four grandchildren, Gideon Braun and Summer, Mason, and James Schmeider; and two special little girls, Kylie Jakubek and Lyla Mueller. He is further survived by three brothers and one sister, Dave (Dorothy) Braun, Elaine (Steve) Rusch, James (Kathy) Braun, and Joseph (Linda) Braun.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ambrose and Julia Braun, his father-in-law, Anthony Rixen, and brother-in law, Vernon Rixen.

We would like to thank Dr. Joel Lundberg and the staff at Agnesian Cancer Center, Agnesian Home Care and Agnesian Hospice for the wonderful care Danny received during his illness. We would also like to thank Sipple Funeral Home of St.Cloud and Calvary Cemetery for their kindness and services.

At Danny's request there will be a memorial service only. The service and reception will be held at Spirit of Life Church, 240 N. National Ave. Fond du Lac, WI on Saturday December 14th from 1-3 PM.
