Professional Wrestler. Born Peter Szabo, he was known as Sandor, a top wrestling star in the 1930s, 40s and 50s. In St. Louis, Missouri, on June 5, 1941, he defeated Bronislau Nagurski to become the National World Alliance Heavyweight Wrestling Champion. Defending the crown he was defeated by Bill Longson on February 19, 1942, but won back the title three more times in 1946, 1947 and 1948. Continuing in his sport, he with partner Ron Etchison won the National World Alliance Tag Team Wrestling Championship on February 22, 1952, in Oakland, California. He was inducted into the Wrestling Observer Hall of Fame in 2000. Cause of death, heart attack.
