Franz (Frank) Liske was the son of Joseph Liske (Lieske, Lyske) and Rosalia Slowy. He was born in Czechotzin, West Prussia (now Ciechocino) and was baptized at Rheda (Reda) Catholic parish. Frank married Anna Ptach in 1886 at St. Josaphat Church in Chicago.
