RETIRED EMPLOYEE, 82; FUNERAL SCHEDULED AT ST. MARY'S
Funeral services for Adam Steffen, 82, formerly of 246 E. Merrill Ave, who died Monday morning following a lingering illness, will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Zacherl Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Rt. Rev. Msgr. Henry A. Maurer officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Employed at the Giddings & Lewis Machine Tool Co., as a paint foreman until retirement in 1952, Mr. Steffen was born April 1, 1884, at St. Joe, the son of James (note: should be Jacob) and Margaret Feldner Steffen. He married Anna Wagner at St. Joseph's Church. She died Feb. 4, 1960. He was a member of St. Mary's Church, Holy Name Society and Lakeside Lodge 1401, I A M.
Survivors include seven sons, Arnold and Raymond, Town of Fond du Lac, William, Clarence, and Norman, city, Arthur, Mounted Route 30, and Edward of Milwaukee; two daughters, Mrs. Fred Schneikert of Sheboygan and Mrs. Raymond Ripple, Milwaukee; 25 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren, and one brother, Charles, Muenster, Saskatchewan, Canada. He was preceded in death by six brothers and eight sisters.

Honorary pallbearers representing the Holy Name Society were George Reska, Peter Weyer, Frank Schuch and George Anders. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.
Pallbearers were grandsons, of the deceased, James Steffen, Kenneth Steffen, Clarence Steffen Jr., William Steffen Jr., Robert Steffen and Ronald Steffen.
